Dear Heavenly Father,
You “gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore”….wow Father;
What does that even mean? how is the heart enlarged like the sands of the seashore? Only You Know, only You Can, only You Will.
It is nothing on our part that we can enlarge our heart like the sand on the seashore….it is by everything on Your part. It is by nothing that we do….because on what we do, we do sin. What we do, is introduce evil into our lives; what You do is evict evil and instill Holiness.
So Lord Almighty, I want what You gave to Your people. Am I not Your people? Am I not baptized into Your family? Am I not participating in Communion? Am I not a Child of God? You give Your gifts abundantly…so please Lord, give me.
How can I go about receiving what You give with no receipt? I want to receive what has already been given. I want to receive what has already been offered. I want to receive what has already been laid….I want Jesus Christ. I want Wisdom. I want Understanding. I want Faith. I want Righteousness.
I finally realized something, O Patient One, that to attain righteousness … is by nothing that we will ever do. Good or Bad…our deeds don’t dictate whether we are worthy to receive that Crown. Because if our deeds dictate…then there would be the debate on You not needing to come to pay for our sins. Therefore, because You came down and offered up the One True Sacrifice for All Sins, Righteousness is no longer something we can attain, but, something we receive. It is not something we earn, it is something we inherit.
So Father, I ask You for my inheritance. I ask You for my Righteousness. I ask You to make me Righteous. I ask You to make me what You made me out to be. I ask You to fulfill Your promises. I ask You to do what You always do: Give.
Give me what You gave Abraham: Faith.
Give me what You gave Samuel: Leadership.
Give me what You gave David: Courage.
Give me what You gave Solomon: Wisdom.
Give me what You Are: Love.
For Love covers all things.
Enlarge my heart like the sands on the seashore.
Grant me Wisdom & Understanding like You granted Solomon;
…not because I deserve it….but because I need it.
In Jesus name we pray,
